Fish Eden: Upper Eden Beats
The Upper Eden in Cumbria runs from the source of the river on Mallerstang Common, to Watersmeet, near Temple Sowerby, where the Rivers Eden and Eamont join. As the river flows south to north Upper Eden is located in the south of the county.
This area is dominated by brown trout; upstream these are wild but as you move downstream it tends to be stocked by local angling clubs. Grayling can be found in the river from Kirkby Stephen with populations increasing as you go downstream. Some coarse fish may also be found in this area if you are lucky!
